Black Tempest

Well, mostly black. As you can see in the above picture, I have a Tempest model courtesy of a Twitter giveaway some time ago. It came completely unpainted, which was simultaneously cool and not due to the fact that I have the artistic skills of a writer (i.e. none). I’ve often wondered what to do with the thing, as in its unpainted form it wasn’t really an impressive piece. I painted parts of it brown, parts of it silver, parts of it gunmetal – all in an effort to figure out what the hell to do with the thing.

Eventually, I ended up with a small collection of Warhammer 40k dudes and the necessary supplies to paint them, including some base coat black spray paint. I went to town and that’s what you see now.

I still don’t know what to do with it. I was kind of hoping that the black, combined with the copper paint on the solar cells, would result in something I wouldn’t mind presenting, but it still wasn’t very cool. It just lacked details, I guess. If anyone out there has any suggestions, I’d love to hear them! Otherwise this thing is going to continue to collect more dust as time goes on, which is a shame.
